Is Brooklyn Beckham Set To Become The Next Best Chef?

Plenty of people are familiar with Brooklyn Beckham, what with him being the son of soccer legend David Beckham and Spice Girls icon Victoria Beckham. Being in one of the world’s most famous families has given him access to quite a fortune and consequently granted him plenty of opportunities in life. Does Brooklyn see it that way, though?

Apparently not, according to 2022 TikTok video. In it, Brooklyn referred to himself as a chef and seemed to indicate that his ability to afford expensive cars stemmed from that job. Some were quick to criticize this video, raising the question: Is Brooklyn Beckham set to become the next best chef? Or is this simply a passing fancy?

Brooklyn Beckham had several career passions before cooking came along 

Those who doubt that cooking will be a long-term interest for Brooklyn Beckham have several reasons to feel this way. For one, he’s only in his early 20s yet has already explored quite a few career paths. When he was younger, it looked like he might follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a soccer player. However, after being signed by Arsenal as a youth prospect, he was dropped when he was 16. After that, his sporting ambitions seemed to disappear. 

Dropping out of school wasn’t the end for Brooklyn Beckham

Luckily, Brooklyn didn’t appear too disheartened by this move as he later enrolled in Parsons School of Design in 2017. Apparently, he was eager to complete a photography degree and soon released his own book of photos. Unfortunately, people didn’t seem to be huge fans of his work, with Beckham ultimately dropping out of school. He didn’t give up his hopes of going somewhere with photography, though, as Brooklyn ended up scoring an internship with Rankin in 2019. However, it seems that his skills allegedly left something to be desired.

All these other jobs were apparently hobbies compared to cooking

After working behind the camera didn’t seem to get Brooklyn anywhere, he changed tact and got in front of the lens instead. This scored him work with the likes of Superdry, although their relationship ended within a year. Out of work yet again, this was when the 23-year-old started showing an interest in cooking. According to him, everything up to this point had been “hobbies,” whereas cooking was his true passion. 

So far, Brooklyn’s efforts in the kitchen haven’t won many people over

When Brooklyn turned his attention to cooking, he seemed adamant that this was the career path that would stick. Fans weren’t confident, though, and many still seem to be hesitant. That’s down to the fact that he hasn’t necessarily wowed people with the cooking skills that he’s demonstrated. When he did a cooking segment on the late-night talk show ‘The Late Late Show,’ he was reportedly mocked for his abilities in the kitchen. That criticism has continued into 2023, with people calling out his efforts to cook roast beef as being too “rare” and “a heart attack on a plate.”

People have questioned how long Brooklyn’s chef career will last

With Brooklyn’s generous use of butter, oil, salt, and fat not going down a treat with many people, fans are now wondering just how long this supposed passion will last. His other career ventures appear to have ended after things didn’t work out in his favor, and so far, cooking doesn’t seem to have gone to plan. If Beckham was being honest about this being his real passion, though, there’s hope that he’ll stick to it and improve his skills over time.

Many people aren’t willing to cut Brooklyn any slack because of his history

Responses to Brooklyn Beckham’s efforts in the kitchen haven’t been the most positive. Things would potentially be different if he hadn’t already attempted so many other careers before this point. It would probably also help if there weren’t videos of him like the one that Daniel Mac posted on TikTok in 2022. This was when Brooklyn seemed to suggest he could afford to drive a McLaren P1 because he’s a chef. Beckham’s parentage and the fact that his new wife is the daughter of a billionaire means that money isn’t hard to come by for the 23-year-old. So, when he suggested his wealth was tied to his desire to be a chef, it inevitably touched a nerve with some people.

So, is Brooklyn Beckham set to become the next best chef? Things don’t look particularly hopeful right now. However, if he sticks with this career path and works to improve his skills, there’s no reason that he can’t prove the doubters wrong. It’ll take a lot of hard work, though.
