People Aren't Sure How To Feel About Trader Joe's Festive Truffles

The holidays come once a year, but that doesn't make it any less exciting for millions of people around the world each season. Of course, all the festive food on offer is usually enough to put plenty of us in a good mood. The problem? People aren't sure how to feel about Trader Joe's festive truffles.

For years, the chain's fan-favorites of Candy Cane Joe-Joe's and Jingle Jangle mix are back for the year, but what about their chocolate truffles? Being so popular means they have been made available at the chain year-round, but the grocer admitted they're "pretty basic" and needed ramping up for the festive season. The result? Minty Cocoa Truffles.

If you love chocolate truffles and a dash of mint, there's a good chance you'll love Trader Joe's Minty Cocoa Truffles. At least, that's what the chain hopes, as it announced online that the festive truffles are here to stay for the festive season. Trader Joe's claims they take the "same basic confection and add a cool minty flavor," but that's not all. Anyone who gets their hands on a box of these festive truffles can also enjoy "crunchy pearl sugar bits for texture." All in all, Trader Joe's seemingly wants to create "something familiar - yet entirely new," but not everyone is sure how to feel about their festive truffles.

Plenty of fans are thrilled with the festive truffles on the shelves

Thankfully, plenty of people were more than happy to get their hands on a famous box of the red truffles with a twist. It's not just a change of packaging to a green box that has seen Trader Joe's festive truffles come to life, as the addition of minty flavor has won over plenty of fans. Some have taken to social media, with some claiming they have a "fluffy consistency." In fact, some went as far as calling it "phenomenal." As if that wasn't enough, the price - just $2.99 for a box - has seen plenty rushing to Trader Joe's to enjoy the festive truffles while they can.

Just because plenty are in love with Trader Joe's festive truffles doesn't mean that everyone is thrilled with the change. One thing that's angered plenty of people is the use of palm and vegetables on the ingredients list, with palm oil being a huge contributor to deforestation and climate change. Others have gone as far as calling the festive truffles "disappointing," claiming they "tasted like toothpaste."

All in all, it appears people aren't sure how to feel about Trader Joe's festive truffles. While some people want to grab as many boxes as they can for the season, others can't wait to see the back of the holidays just so they are off our shelves for another year.
